The Reluctant cook.... sunday bake

Yes you will be surprised to know I am still watching Lorraine Pascale and she still inspires me to continue baking.  Sunday's are the best day for me it seems, so last weekend I had another crack at it.

With my little book in hand, I tootled off to the supermarket for ingredients.

This is what I planned to bake - they are called Monte Carlos and here is a pic of my first attempt...

I think i need to bake another batch to work on the cooking times and of course finesse my presentation. In my defence, these were en-route to a taste session at mum's house hence the sandwich box and wrapped in foil...

I don't feel like baking is as 'easy' as Lorraine suggests as everything seems to take me so long to do. I do think my oven is in shock from over-use hence its reticence to cook anything at the 'suggested' recipe temperatures.  To give it its due,  it is only used to cooking jacket spuds and fish fingers so I think I will have to speak to it nicely before my next baking session..
