National Trust weekend Pt 2...

mixed reviews of the weather for Sunday but once again we braved the elements (after a quick trip to Primark) and took ourselves off to:

Scotney Castle ~ Victorian country house and romantic garden with a 14th century moated medieval castle set in a beautiful wooded estate

Such stunning grounds and a beautiful house which was occupied up until 2006. Once again we had a lovely walk around the house and when you walk down into the grounds, there is the ruin of the Old Castle and the lake.  Such a great walk but is a little steep (so be mindful if you have pushchairs or wheelchairs).  It also has a shop, Restaurant and sells plants all grown on the Estate.

Little known fact: Mrs Thatcher rented one of the apartments next to the house so husband Dennis could go and play golf at one of the local courses!

I would totally recommend a trip to a National Trust property at some point during this Summer, its a really great day out and as the year progresses most will have events happening for big and little kids..

If you check out voucher codes or one of the similar code sites you will find that there are offers on membership fees.
